Nothing is free

CNN has a story titled – Poll: Disapproval of Bush at high point. Now I wouldn’t say I’m a huge political advocate. But it’s not like it’s a big surprise that his approval ratings have dropped. That happens with every President during time of war or other significant event. As far as I’m concerned - Bush did the best with what he could. Being in office during 9/11 – that was probably his worst nightmare. Every person in America watched - shocked. Then the realization that the war could be brought to our homeland sunk in. That even though we are the biggest superpower in the world – we can be attacked too. Then the whole nation was gungho for war. But what did people think? – we could wage war on another country and be home in a few months? That there would be no casualties? That we wouldn't need to hang around to keep the peace? Yes, lives are lost. Yes, it is costing $. Yes, our boys (and gals) are there…still. Freedom isn’t free, nor is it cheap. Bush made the choice – and America agreed. But now that the dust has settled – many don’t want to support America’s fight anymore. Well I do. Bush – go get’m! Troops – be safe and don’t miss!
