Thanksgiving is not going to be so nice this year - my brother is stationed in Cali (he's a Marine)... He isn't able to come home for the holidays, so I'm gonna miss him this year. Looks like on my side, its just my family, my mom and younger 2 siblings. I went to the store and bought all the stuff to make my sweet potatoe casserole, broccoli rice and cheese casserole, green beans in cream of mushroom sauce along with some rolls and a pumpkin pie. $65 or so worth of groceries (including dog food and some other necessities.) I made my share, then took it to my mom's on Thanksgiving afternoon. Of course only a 1/16th of it was eaten at dinner. In our defense we had gone to my MIL in the early afternoon and eaten there too. Still, all my food sat at on the kitchen counter at my mom's. So I figured as we are leaving she'd tell us to pack up leftovers. But she didn't. I brought a lot of good food, and left with half a pumpkin pie. Ratz! No leftovers from a 20 lb turkey that could have fed an army. Of course, I spent Friday and Saturday complaining about how I wanted turkey. What's thanksgiving without leftovers???
