Ebay is a cult

It is official. I hate eBay. With a passion.

Lately, there has been no flow. (ie: no money) So, we missed the PS3 bandwagon - we have jobs that we really need right now. But we stood in line for 6 hours to buy a couple of Wiis. Figured we turn a profit on ebay. No much just a little something to help our bills.

Of course ebay is stricter on the requirements for selling game systems this year... no problem.

Flashback to 2004 - We buy 2 slim PS2's and post on ebay. We get a buy it now offer for both. Paid for via Paypal. We package and ship them to the address. Signature required, of course. Paypal freezes our funds, launches an investigation. I have to submit, emails, receipts, and documentation up the wazoo. Eight weeks later, Paypal decides in my favor.

Present time - I jump through all the hoops and finally get to post my Wiis for sale. This time I specifically state I will only take payments via Paypal and I will ONLY ship to a CONFIRMED Paypal address.

I get a buy it now offer on each of my auctions, 2 different people. Neither of which have a confirmed paypal address. Geez. Can't people read??? They are costing me money. I have almost $15 in fees now from having to relist. I can't seem to sell these damned things as you have to be part of the cult (translated: lots of feedback) in order to sell anything to anyone other than scammers. This is very frusterating. I'm just trying to make a few extra dollars here - give a gal a break!!!

Just to rant for a sec:
How the hell do the damn powersellers make money on ebay? For instance children's clothes. I swear their prices are the same or more than the store. How can they possible turn a profit? I mean even if you buy NWT clothes on sale, and try to resell on ebay, it will cost you just as much to list as the the item cost you, so where is your profit? Say they have a wholesaler... how do you hook up with a wholesaler that will sell you items as cost? You surely can't google and get the results needed (I tried). And what's with the drop ship companies that say they are wholesalers but charge double what I could pay elsewhere. How can anyone resell those items?

If anyone knows the answer to these questions, please let me know as I am clueless.

That is why I stayed away from selling on ebay....I wanted to a LONG time ago, but shied away due to the listing fees and such. If you find out the secret, share it with me so that I can increase my flow, too. I have lots of projects coming up that I need $$ for.

Derek - thanks for the offer but I was able to sell them through Craigslist. I think those ps3's are going to be selling high for a while. I know 2 people that walked into walmart & target and just happened to score one! They were just sitting on the shelf. Apparently, stores are getting random shipments of them. Thanks for the info.
