Christmas crept up on us this year. Two days before Christmas, we decided to buy a chrismas tree. We waited until the last minute because we weren't going to purchase one this year, but the kids made us feel guilty so off to Home Depot my hubby went at 6 a.m. He scored a 7 ft Douglas Fir ($60) for only $10! Woohoo! We decided to set it up and let it sit in water overnight to settle. The next day, the children were so excited to decorate the tree. Hubby goes in search of the Christmas decorations. 30 minutes later he comes inside to let me know he can't find the decorations.
Me: What do you mean they're not there?
Him: I can't find them.
Me: It was a big huge box that says Xmas Decorations. It's GOT to be there.
Him: I looked every where, even in the attic. It's not there.
{silence}
Me: Ohhh crap!
Him: Don't tell me.
Me: "Santa Claus" put tinsel all over the dried out dead tree last year. It would've been a pain to get all the decorations off. We threw out the whole darn thing!!!
I took a trip to several stores looking for ornaments, etc for our nekkid christmas tree. 45 minutes, four stores and two stolen parking spaces later, I purchase 2 sets of ornaments, 1 set of lights and 2 sets of bows. The result is a gold and silver glass orb christmas tree with gold and silver bows and white lights. Plain but nice.

I remember my first Christmas tree Honey threw away ALL my glass ornaments. I was so upset about that-still bugs me 15 years later.
Happy New Year to you and your family!
Kristen - The deal was the last minute "move inventory" ie: trees are dying and brown deal! Luckily ours wasn't too bad.
Happy New Year to you guys!
